Reese joined our family when he was 4 months old. I would have loved to have seen him as a tiny puppy when was just born. He was no longer that little by the time he joined us. My father jokingly refers to him as Clifford. He is tall enough to open doors and dance with his daddy when he is standing on his hind legs.
Reese can be as sweet as can be. When he sees humans hugging, he wants to join in. He cries at the window while watching his brothers get on the school bus in the morning. Reese seems to sense when I don’t feel well. Instead of being his usual energetic self, he will lie next to me and put his head on my lap and let me rest.
Reese has certainly tested my patience. He has been causing mass destruction in our house since April. He has destroyed two pairs of eye glasses, chewed up more toys than I can count, and knocked over the trash numerous times. The positive side of his destruction is that it has helped me discard many of the toys that the kids have lost interest in. He also destroyed his dog bed and now has made his way into our bed on a nightly basis. Sneaky fella!
Our daily walks have added a sense constancy and routine to my life when things have felt unsteady. We stop and admire the lake each day. He interacts with every dog in the neighborhood, whether they like it or not. He is an extremely social puppy!
Reese has made his share of dog friends and is quite the ladies’ man. He has escaped the house twice now to see his girl friend, Coco, who lives across the street. He really gives us a run for our money. When we run after him, he runs faster. Reese loves playing at the park with his siblings. He has even learned to go down the slide.
Reese is truly our fourth child. We love him to pieces, like Reese’s pieces. Happy birthday!!!
